Joe Bonham Project – Jeff East

The image above is part of my contribution to the Joe Bonham Project.  The plate shows paralyzed former 82nd Airborne paratrooper Jeff East holding the WWII helmet once worn by his grandfather.  A major collection of the work by artist involved with this ongoing project will be on view at the Pepco Edison Place Gallery in Washington DC during the month of November.

On November 9th from 10-11am there will be a press conference at the gallery. The 10th at 6pm is the opening reception. On November 11th from 2-4pm will be a panel discussion with Carol Kino (NYTimes arts writer), James Panero (New Criterion), Brandon Fortune (curator of prints and painting at The National Portrait Gallery) and Peter Catapano (NYTimes Opinionator editor).

I plan to be at the opening so I hope to see you there!
