Quotes – Notebook Entry from Feb 12, 2007

On Feb 12, 2007 I was on flight #688 from Newark to Tucson after a weekend visit to NYC. I was reading a book about photography and wrote down the following quotes made by other photographers:

“To chart a course, one must have a direction”

– Berenice Abbott

“Photographers deal in things that are continually vanishing……”

– Cartier Bresson

“Through the act of living, the discovery of oneself is made concurrently with the discovery of the world around us….”

– Cartier Bresson

“The camera is the definitive link between science and art….”

– Minor White

“Feeling and photographing that causes feeling is no assurance that ohers will feel”

– Minor White

“Each photograph that works ia a revelation to its supposted creator”

– Robert Adams
